Customs Recruitment: 1,700 Young People Join the Ranks
The Federal Administration Academy in Münster has been the venue for the theoretical parts of the training in the higher service, while the customs' own training center in Erfurt hosts the middle service trainees. On September 1, 2025, 1,700 young people across Germany embarked on their training or studies in the customs service.
In Schweinfurt, the Main Customs Office welcomed 23 new recruits on September 2, 2025. Among them, 17 are undergoing a two-year training in the middle service, while 6 are pursuing a three-year bachelor's degree in the higher service. After completing their training or studies, the young customs officers can expect to be deployed in various areas of customs.
The dual study programs offered by customs provide a unique opportunity for young individuals. The dual study of administrative informatics lasts three years and concludes with the academic degree "Bachelor of Science", while the General Customs Directorate offers a three-year program that leads to the academic degree "Bachelor of Laws". Both programs are designed to equip students with the necessary skills for a successful career in customs.
